Purpose of the position

The incumbent should have experience in working with stake holders of the company and leaders of other departments like product engineering, sales engineering and delivery to envision, create and execute cognitive machine learning based product features that align with the overall product strategy. 
He/she should also possess experience in leading a team of high performing data scientists and oversee their work products. He should demonstrate thought leadership, possess ability to translate business requirements into data science problems, and provide solutions by  while adhering to strict timelines/budget/scope/quality. The candidate should be able to articulate the actionable insights drawn from cutting edge data science models to senior leadership and business stakeholders

Essential Job Function

As the head of the cognitive machine learning team, the incumbent is expected to play a prominent leadership role in bringing innovations to the company’s product suite. He/she is responsible for adding value by effectively managing the company’s data science strategy to align with the product strategy and the overall business strategy. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of leading a team of data scientists and help solve real world problems using computer vision and cognitive machine learning. 

Basic Qualification

Education: PhD/Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Data Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Related field

Essential Qualification:

  • At least 14 years of experience in advanced analytics with focus on developing algorithms to solve business problems related to computer vision/digitization/machine learning natural language processing
  • Proven track record of building and deployment of scalable enterprise class machine learning/deep learning models for document digitization in production environment
  • Hands-on experience in achieving data parallelism/model parallelism using multiple GPUs
  • Exposure to pre-processing techniques to enhance documents to aid accuracy of extraction
  • Solid mathematical foundations of machine learning/deep learning/computer vision
  • Hands-on experience in Tensor Flow, Keras, PyTorch, NLTK
  • Hands-on experience in Python/R/C programming
  • Compilers: Anaconda/ ANT
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Business mindset

Desirable Technical background

  • Exposure to various opensource and proprietary OCR/ICR for extracting both Latin and non-Latin scripts
  • Exposure to MLOps – implementing and automating continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), and continuous training (CT) for machine learning (ML) systems
  • Experience in building NLP solutions for Japanese/Thai/Arabic/Chinese Languages
  • Experience in Natural Language Processing including Natural Language Understanding/Natural Language Inference
  • Experience in developing enterprise class scalable and self-learning NLP solutions/engines
